Understand our selection process, criteria, vetting and awarding of Emgwen Bursaries 2025
Vetting is done at a sub-location level at a meeting venue chosen by the Bursary committee
The online application of bursary is declared open 1 week prior to vetting through a poster well circulated to all parts of the constituency
The CDF Committee issues the schedule with venues for public participation and vetting for the entire constituency.
On the eventful day, the CDF Committee led by the Chairperson briefs the meeting on the mandatory requirements, amount and number of beneficiaries to be awarded per village.
The parents divide themselves into villages headed by village elders and make a decision themselves on who they want to benefit from bursary.
They are given an already printed list of all applicants in a village for the village elder to tick against
The beneficiaries who are chosen by the community and have not applied are quickly registered to the system and their details captured manually on an empty, serialized form and signed by the officials.
The CDF representative reads out the names out loud for the community to agree that the beneficiary list is final.
Successful applicants then submit copies of their mandatory documents.
The CDF ICT representative will immediately award the beneficiaries on the system guided by the signed lists from each village with sms notifications of award being sent to the registered phone number of successful applicants.
The CDF team then prints out the overall list of beneficiaries of the sub-location as generated by the system ready for cheques writing.
